Twitter launches photo tagging feature

Twitter photo tagging service is a piece of evidence that the fight has started – Copying features as Facebook & Google+ do with Twitter. As all of you know, Facebook copied twitter’s mentions, hashtags, trending stories, and more… Google+ created its platform on a mix of Facebook & Twitter features.

Now, it’s time to introduce the Twitter photo tagging service!

“We’re rolling out two new mobile features that make photos on Twitter more social. One is photo tagging, which lets you tag the people in your photo; the other is the ability to include up to four photos in a Tweet.” Twitter said

Twitter photo tagging allows you to tag 10 people in a photo

Tagging people in pictures generate more conversations and attention to the picture than just tweeting a photo — Twitter wants to make the platform more social, friends to friends relationship, rather than the nature of the platform which is people who don’t know each other are interacting together, and maybe they won’t get in touch again — You can tag up to 10 people in a photo and still have all 140 characters left for your tweet body. If you’re the one being tagged, you’ll get a notification. You can adjust notifications, as well as who can tag you, in your Settings.

Share up to 4 photos in a single Tweet

Another new feature of Twitter, now you can share a series of photos that automatically create a collage. Just tap on a preview to get the full image and slide through the group. The ability to upload multiple photos is starting to roll out on March 26th, on iPhone, and is coming soon to Android and the web interface. Don’t worry, you can view Tweets with multiple photos even before getting the feature on your device.

Hope to enjoy the two new features — Let us know your thoughts on these new features.
