Disney+ streaming service is now available in 42 new markets globally including the Middle East and North Africa. The company announced early this year that it plans to expand to more markets on June 8, 2022.

Now it has gone live in more than a dozen countries in the region, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Algeria, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, and Oman.

The Walt Disney Company continues the global expansion of its streaming service, Disney+, by launching in 42 countries and 11 territories across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

The launch of Disney+ gives customers across these regions access to exclusive original content and thousands of episodes and movies from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and general entertainment from Star.

Disney+ app is now available for download in the following new markets.

  • Albania
  • Algeria
  • Andorra
  • Bahrain
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Bulgaria
  • Croatia
  • Czech Republic
  • Egypt
  • Estonia
  • Greece
  • Hungary
  • Iraq
  • Israel
  • Jordan
  • Kosovo
  • Kuwait
  • Latvia
  • Lebanon
  • Libya
  • Liechtenstein
  • Lithuania
  • Malta
  • Montenegro
  • Morocco
  • North Macedonia
  • Oman
  • Palestine Territories
  • Poland
  • Qatar
  • Romania
  • San Marino
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Serbia
  •  Slovakia
  • Slovenia
  • Tunisia
  • Turkey
  • United Arab Emirates
  • Vatican City
  • Yemen

In addition to:

  • Faroe Islands
  • French Polynesia
  • French Southern Territories
  • St. Pierre and Miquelon Overseas Collective
  • Åland Islands
  • Sint Maarten
  • Svalbard & Jan Mayen
  • British Indian Ocean Territory
  • Gibraltar
  • Pitcairn Islands
  • St Helena

Users will be able to access high-quality viewing, up to four concurrent streams, unlimited downloads on up to ten devices, and set up to seven different profiles, including the ability for parents to set Kids Profiles to access age-appropriate content.

Last month Disney+ was launched in South Africa; now, the Disney+ app being offered across the Middle East and Africa is different from the app used elsewhere.

The Disney+ app across the Middle East and Africa is a variant version of the Disney+ Hotstar app used in India and South-East Asia.

The app does have a different user interface. Also, it has another login system, which uses a mobile telephone number rather than a Disney ID, while the content isn’t different.

This leads us to the fact that it might not work if you are visiting the Middle East or Africa and trying to use your Disney+ app, it might not work. It also will be the same situation for those from the Middle East or Africa visiting other countries trying to access Disney+ on their devices.
