UN Women Reveals Next Phase of Violence Against Women Campaign

UN Women’s Egypt in collaboration with the National Council for Women has produced a campaign on Ending Violence Against Women called “Mateskotoosh” (‘Speak Up’). The campaign addresses sexual harassment, domestic violence, highlighting the need for everybody to come together to end violence against women (VAW) in order to spread and support a culture of (speaking up) by addressing the problem.

The campaign’s billboard phase was heavily criticized on social media in Egypt as copying the idea from a UK campaign “Facial recognition technology used to fight domestic violence” published on Adweek
