Responsible leaders hold their governments accountable. Dubai Ruler set an example for Arab leaders on Twitter, giving his officials a 1-month ultimatum to finish the Smart Government project on deadline.
HH Sheikh Mohammed quoted one of his old tweets today, published on May 22, 2013:Screenshot from Dubai Ruler’s official account on Twitter.
Dubai Ruler Tweet translation:
“I would like to remind my fellow officials of a tweet I published two years ago. Our meeting is next month to see the results of their work.
We gave government entities two-years to finish the Smart Government project, promising officials who don’t achieve targets with a farewell party at the end of this period.”
HH took social media to a whole new level, transforming Twitter into an official platform where governments are held accountable publicly in the digital sphere. His action proves that words on the Twitter count.
