Egyptian digital advertisers can now choose to pay for facebook ads in the local currency (EGP). The social network has added the Egyptian pound to its accepted currencies, which wasn’t possible before.

Over the last six months businesses have been struggling every month to settle their facebook bills, because of the US dollar aggressive spending cap set by the Egyptian central bank.

Change Your Ad Account Currency To EGP, By Visiting Facebook Ad Account Settings

Please note that you will be asked to create a new account and deactivate your current.

Meanwhile, we’ve created a new advertising test account in EGP to spend few pounds and get charged, the good news is that we have been charged us in EGP. Check below screenshot.

For record, Google was the first to accept payments in Egyptian pound as the company is already registered in Egypt, unlike facebook and twitter.
