Huawei Ascend P7 is Thinner, Sleeker & Cutting Edge

Published

Let’s start with the facts.

There is explosive demand for bigger smartphones. A 4-inch smartphone feels small now; somewhere around 5 inches is the new normal. Yet too many large-screen phones are cumbersome, awkward, and often just plain bad or just like any other smartphone, have many problems in connectivity during calls, capturing really low quality selfies, or even unreliable with internet speed. Huawei has started taking good steps with obviously huge markets and being the first manufacturer to really nail the execution of excellent with edges phones.

Add those three things together, and this phone on my desk isn’t at all surprising. It’s the Huawei Ascend P7: a bigger, brighter, thinner, sleeker, and cutting all edges. P7 designed to appeal to the customers whom are looking for high connectivity, social networks geeks, selfie lovers, and elegancy seekers as well. (Which is basically everybody nowadays). It priced at $300 and comes in black and white. It’s full of new technology and crafted with perfection. Huawei intends for it to be the new standard in a new type of smartphone, to be the cutting edge phone that anyone wants. Not the best phone, but the most reliable and connectivity driven phone. The phone everyone dreams of.

Of course, Apple, Samsung, HTC, and others have been making brilliant phones too, and they have years of iteration and millions of sales to show for it. This is a new edge to climb yet: can it leapfrog the entrenched competition and prove that Huawei can do better?

The Huawei Ascend P7 delivers powerful performance because of its double antennas for never cut-off internet during normal calls, 13M front camera for stunning selfies, beautiful design and is ready to meet all your day-to-day needs.

8MP BSI Front Camera For Stunning Selfies

The Ascend P7 redefines the possibilities of the smartphone camera experience. The 8MP 5-piece aspherical lens front camera incorporates a Blue Glass infrared sensor that enhances the clarity of every photo, helping to avoid object deformation and purple fringing, making every photo you take a memory to treasure.

Not only an edge with front camera but main camera

Low-Light Performance

Huawei Ascend P7 – Low Light Performance

The Ascend P7 gives you an edge in low light settings with Blue Glass infrared filters on the front and rear lenses to provide a sharper image, with better noise reduction and bright colors and details, even in low light conditions.

Huawei Ascend P7

The Ascend P7 is built for enhanced connectivity in the era of lightning-fast 4G LTE. But when you’re away from a 4G network and need to improve the stability of your signal, or just want to save some extra battery power by using a 3G connection, the Ascend P7 switches automatically between networks.

How to screenshot on iPhone 14: new 'copy and delete' option

iOS 16 has brought a new valuable “copy and delete” option when you screenshot on your iPhone; it allows you to paste the image in a message or email without saving it to your photo library, which helps you save storage on your iPhone.

The new iOS 16 “copy and delete” option can be used in regular and scrolling screenshots. It helps you keep your photo library out of repeated and useless screenshots.

So, how to take regular and scrolling screenshots on your iPhone without downloading a third-party app?

Regular screenshots using the new ‘copy and delete’ option

  1. Press the side button and volume up button at the same time to grab a screenshot (you can also press one immediately after the other)
  2. For 5 seconds, you can tap the screenshot thumbnail in the bottom left corner for more options – if you do nothing, it will save to the Photos app.
  3. If you tap the screenshot thumbnail, you can use markup tools – tap the share button in the top right corner (square with up arrow) for quick options.
  4. Tap Done in the top left corner for the handy new Copy and Delete option

Scrolling screenshot on iPhone

With this native iOS option, a scrolling screenshot or long screenshot gives you a PDF of everything on (or selection of) a document, webpage, note, or email in Apple’s apps.

  1. Take a screenshot (press the side button and volume up button at the same time)
  2. Tap the thumbnail in the bottom left corner before it disappears
  3. Choose the Full Page option in the top right corner. The Full Page option will only appear in instances where there is more than one page worth of content on-screen
  4. You can preview all the pages, use markup, and more before saving
  5. You can also tap the crop icon (square-ish icon next to “Done”) to edit what part of the Full Page you’d like to save
  6. Tap either Done in the top-left corner to save or the share button in the top right – you’ll get the new Copy and Delete option with these too
  • Tip: For webpages, swipe down to ensure all content loads before saving the scrolling screenshot.

Third-party apps

Another option for scrolling screenshots of content inside third-party apps or more manual control (saving as PNG, etc.) is using an app like Picsew or Tailor.

Apple will roll out iOS 16 update to fix iPhone 14 Pro bug causing cameras’ shake

Apple will roll out iOS 16 update to fix iPhone 14 Pro bug causing cameras' shake

Apple will release the first update to iOS 16 in light of reports by some users about a bug in iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max causing the camera to shake and buzz on some apps, including Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram.

These problems include the rear camera shaking, rattling, and even making physical noises.

Apple has acknowledged the problem in a statement to Bloomberg. The company says a fix will roll out sometime next week. If you are affected by this issue, do not allow your iPhone 14 Pro’s camera to rattle/shake because it could cause hardware damage.

After releasing iPhone 14 Pro models last Friday, some users posted videos on Twitter and Reddit complaining about a bug in iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max that caused the camera's shake and buzz.

Other users said they had seen similar problems with Snapchat, Instagram, and TikTok. A handful of videos showing this problem have also been shared on social media.

This video below from TikTok does a great job of showing the software problem alongside the iPhone 14 Pro’s camera module rattling. It was posted by TikTok user Damian Munoz on Saturday:

Because this iPhone 14 Pro camera shaking/rattling problem only affects the camera in third-party apps, it’s almost certainly a software bug.

In particular, it could be related to optical image stabilization, hence the rattling sounds the camera module makes. Likely, these third-party apps weren’t prepared for the iPhone 14 Pro camera changes.

As of right now, there’s no fix for this problem. The affected apps, like Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok, will likely need to roll out updates to their respective apps to solve the problem.
