SoundCloud Launches Its Online Existence in Egypt

The famous digital audio platform Soundcloud has launched its page on Facebook in Arabic to users in Egypt, a step that is believed to open the doors for SoundCloud’s internationalization plans that consider the Middle East one of its important markets.

SoundCloud has decided to strengthen its presence in the MENA region by communicating with users in the Arabic language through social networks. Kijamii “an Egyptian digital agency” has been appointed to the project, as it is considered a pioneer in the digital field and has extensive experience in the internationalization of global brands such as Chelsea FC among others.

Why Egypt? Egypt is considered to be a pivotal Arab-speaking country in digital content creation and consumption, as well as an Arab culture that should act as the perfect starting point to SoundCloud’s expansion plans in MENA.
Soundcloud is a Swedish online audio distribution platform based in Berlin, Germany, founded in 2007. The platform enables its users to upload, record, promote, and share their originally-created sounds.

SoundCloud’s First Arabic Message

As mentioned, SoundCloud started with the largest social network “Facebook” to kick-off communications in Arabic to the Egyptian community. It posted the first Arabic message a few hours ago that can be translated to “Listen to your favorite sounds, the Egyptian way”.
The post got a total of 4.5K interactions in less than an hour.
