US virtual and hybrid event platform Bevy has acquired Egypt-based startup Eventtus, the companies announced in a joint statement. The acquisition includes Eventtus’ technology, intellectual property, and its 20-person team—among them co-founders Mai Medhat and Nihal Fares, who will both join Bevy in leadership roles. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Founded in 2012, Eventtus built a name as a pioneer in the MENA region’s event tech scene, powering conferences and exhibitions across 35 countries with tools for mobile apps, virtual events, ticketing, lead retrieval, and analytics.
What Each Company Brings
Bevy will integrate Eventtus’ mobile and in-person engagement products into its platform, allowing it to deliver fully unified virtual, in-person, and hybrid event solutions. Bevy’s enterprise client base already includes Google, Facebook, and Salesforce.
“We’ve worked closely with Bevy for several years, so this step felt natural,” said Medhat. “This partnership unlocks scale and global reach, while preserving the product DNA that made Eventtus unique.”
Leadership and Structure Post-Acquisition
Under the new structure, Eventtus will operate under the Bevy umbrella. Medhat will serve as Vice President of Innovation, overseeing product-led growth across departments. Fares becomes Director of Product Management, leading efforts across hybrid and in-person event tools.
The merged team will be headquartered in Palo Alto, California, with plans to explore how the Eventtus brand might continue under the Bevy ecosystem.
From Regional Success to Global Exit
Eventtus had been one of Bevy’s technology partners and customers. After Bevy secured $40 million in Series C funding in March, the acquisition talks accelerated. Medhat credits the deal to years of focus on experience-led design and international client acquisition.
“We never compromised on product quality or user experience,” Medhat said. “Hiring top tech talent from the start was the best investment we ever made.”
