Facebook Enables Private Messages to Companies

Facebook enabled companies to initiate private messages to engaged users. Before this update, companies were only able to reply to messages sent to the company page; they couldn’t initiate new private messages to users who have issues with the company on Facebook.

What does that mean for businesses?

The new feature could be a revolution in how companies handle customer service on Facebook because it gives companies more power to solve customers’ problems and build better relations with existing & potential customers.

How do Facebook private messages work for pages?

It’s not an ultimate messaging feature, which means there’re still restrictions. Pages can only initiate new messages to people who comment on the company posts via a quick “message” button added to the comment actions as below:
