Rainfall caused widespread flooding in Qatar on Saturday, several major roads were flooded, prompting official warnings.

“As the rain continues to pour in most parts of the country, motorists are advised to be cautious,” the interior ministry tweeted after earlier calling the rainfall “medium to heavy”.

According to Doha News, heavy downpours across Doha have caused two popular malls in Qatar to leak, and another to shut down completely.

Many people on social media posted videos and photos on the hashtags #QatarRain and #أمطار_قطر, with some questioning how a relatively small amount of rain, the first of the winter, could cause such problems?!
