Cairo-based EdTech startup Career 180 has secured $200,000 in investment from EdVentures to expand its career training and job readiness platform. The funding will support the launch of a new employment platform, which will be integrated with Freelance Yard.
Founded in 2016, Career 180 focuses on preparing university students and fresh graduates for the job market through a mix of online and offline services. These include video-based career guidance, soft skills workshops, resume reviews, training programs, and in-person career counseling events.
With the new funding, Career 180 plans to scale its offerings significantly — aiming to train 1 million learners and support 300,000 users in securing employment opportunities across Egypt and the region.
“Our mission is to close the gap between education and employment,” said the founders. “We want to equip youth with real-world skills and direct access to companies hiring for practical, in-demand roles.”
The new employment platform will combine Career 180’s content ecosystem with Freelance Yard’s job matching tools, creating a unified experience for job seekers and recruiters alike.
