December is a month of festivities and celebrations for a lot of people. Different people celebrate different occasions, making this cold month a joyous one to look forward to. For a few, it is also a month of reflection.

A whole year has passed and a new one is about to begin. A whole year with its successes, failures, parties, funerals, baby showers, new friends, old friends, heartbreaks, breakups, makeups, prayers, sins, repentance, adventures, travels, and lessons, is about to say goodbye.

Before we say goodbye and part with 2015, let’s reflect on seven lessons we want to keep for the next year.

Inside this article hide
1. 1- Dreams can come true
2. 2- Ego will not take you anywhere
3. 3- You are a reflection of your values, beliefs, and what you choose to focus on
4. 4- Love and kindness do not know racism
5. 5- We still have a long way to go when it comes to learning how to choose our partners
6. 6- When you judge others, you are judging yourself
7. 7- Even in our darkest moments, there is still a gleam of light

1- Dreams can come true

Look at Abla Fahita, and she is not even a real person. Imagine what you can do.

2- Ego will not take you anywhere

Even if it does, it will be only temporary. Admit your shortcomings, learn from them, and move on.

3- You are a reflection of your values, beliefs, and what you choose to focus on

Just like media is a reflection of society, the newly elected parliament is a reflection of what we have become.

4- Love and kindness do not know racism

If Paris bothered you, and not Iraq, nor Syria, then something is definitely wrong with you.

5- We still have a long way to go when it comes to learning how to choose our partners

Creating seminars for that sole purpose will be beneficial for all of us as well as for future generations.  It is beyond logic how many girls dreamt of having relationships with abusive addicts such as Aly from ta7t el saytara and created relationship goals.

6- When you judge others, you are judging yourself

It is not your job to call people names and decide if they are going to hell or not. The comments on the Agouza nightclub accident were horrific. God wants you to be tolerant, and it is not up to you to decide that those people deserved to be dead. If you have nothing good to say, then say nothing. This is what being religious means.

7- Even in our darkest moments, there is still a gleam of light

Trust in God and have faith. What better way to say that other than the latest hit Sahla w Basita
